Rumors were flying around that Apple will release another 4-inch iPhone 6c this year since last November. Except for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6c will be a new but less expensive device that released by Apple this year. According to the reports from Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcuri, the evidence of the iPhone 6c in Apple’s supply chain from January through March has disappeared which shows that Apple has stopped the project.
This means that Apple might delay or shelve the plans to make four-inch iPhone because they believe that the new iPhone 6c will cannibalize a price-reduced iPhone 6. Timothy Arcuri suggests that iPhone 6c, with the same size of iPhone 5s, is the simplified version of iPhone 6. And it’s body is made of medal which is different from that of iPhone 5c released in 2013. Jefferies predicts that the 4-inch iPhone 6c will be unveiled in 2016.
Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple is unlikely to launch a 4-inch model this year in April but few weeks later he claimed that Apple will release the 4-inch device that supports Apple Pay in 2016.
Apple has been testing their new products and service frequently though some of them have never been unveiled to public. This could mean that the 4-in iPhone 6c will never be launched. Although photos of iPhone 6c were unveiled since last November, there are still no real evidence shows that the device is in the middle of developing.
